This month we are pleased to introduce Debbie Flahavin – the newest addition to our friendly and caring Healthy Living team at Point Cook Village. Debbie is passionate about working with people and already feels at home in our close knit community. Vital Stats: Married to Steve the accountant for 30 years, with 3 children, Kurt, Brigitte and Carl, aged 28, 26 & 20 years. Only daughter who is a primary school teacher, has been working in South Korea for two years teaching English. Boys are both tradesmen. I was attracted to Point Cook Village because: I had only ever worked in the hospital setting, so “Point Cook Village” nurse was a new challenge and I enjoy meeting new people. Favourites: Music: Pink, Abba, The Seekers. Films: Sound of Music {seen it at least 40 times}, any animal films and recently Kings Speech. Food: Beef and roast vegies, ice-cream, yogurt and chocolate Drink: Latte, orange juice and white wine. Holiday destination: To travel around Australia. My greatest achievement: Being married and seeing my children grow into responsible adults. Going to University and completing a degree in nursing nine years ago. Bucket List: Become a grandmother and travel to Germany to see my where my ancestors lived. I wish I had never: Collected so many speeding fines.

5 people I would love to have at a BBQ:

My late father, who has been gone for 19 years, because he was a wonderful father and mentor.

The late Fred Hollows, because I admired the work he did in third world countries.

Royce Hart, Kevin Bartlett {Richmond footballers in the sixties and seventies} because I loved the way they played AFL.

My daughter who is overseas because she has always been a great support to me.

If I could change the world: I would stop animal cruelty and find a cure for cancer.
