Work Starts on Beleura Village Mornington
The Mayor of Mornington Shire Council, Cr Graham Pittock addressed local residents and guests at the Beleura Village Mornington Sod Turning reception which was held at the Mornington Race Course recently. The event celebrated the commencement of works on the Mornington Peninsula’s newest retirement village, which will be owned and operated by Retirement Communities Australia (RCA). “The site is still difficult to access from the road, so we had Cr Pittock turn the sod while we filmed the event and then showed it later in the morning at the reception. That way, all our guests were spared climbing over fences and standing in the paddock!” said RCA Managing Director, Andrew Philip. “We were also very fortunate to have Federal Member for Dunkley, Bruce Billson M.P in attendance for the turning of the first sod”.
Beleura Village will be surrounded by landscaped gardens and walking tracks and is designed to provide resort style amenities for the residents. The Club House, which will open in 2013 will have a commercial kitchen, computer room, living and dining rooms as well as a range of leisure and pampering spaces. In addition to a competition Bowling Green, residents will enjoy the use of an indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna and spa. A beauty salon and consulting rooms for visiting health practitioners will complete the comprehensive facilities that feature in Beleura Village’s contemporary and stylish setting.
The village will have 185 villas upon completion. Construction will take place over 8 stages, with 26 villas included in the first stage. “There has been a high level of interest and we are really excited about the fantastic response we have already received. Our new community will start to take shape over the coming months. The display villa will be completed by April and the first residents will be able to move in mid-way through next year - so there is plenty to celebrate today!” said Mr Philip. Guests at the reception were able to view the plans of the village and homes during a brief presentation given by the RCA team.
“Beleura Village Mornington has an enviable location. Residents will be close to a choice of shops, beaches, golf courses, and an excellent range of medical services nearby. The CBD is 45 minutes away and our proximity to all the fabulous wineries and day trip locations is an added bonus.”
Mr. Philip goes on to say: “We are all very excited about the commencement of works on Beleura Village. On a personal note, I have been holidaying in the area for most of my life and this part of Victoria is really heaven on earth. We are sure that many of the residents will come from the surrounding area, but we have had many enquiries from people who are looking for a sea change retirement as well.”
