If you’ve already celebrated reaching your milestone 60th birthday and you’re no longer working full time, you’re most likely eligible for a Victorian Seniors Card and all the benefits that go with it. What you need to know about your Victorian Seniors Card
To be eligible for a Victorian Seniors Card, you need to:
- Have experienced at least 60 years of life;
- Be fully retired or employed for less than 35 hours a week; and,
- Be a permanent resident of Australia, living in Victoria.
Your Victorian Seniors Card is accepted Australia wide. If you’re visiting another state, you can jump online to the relevant state’s Seniors Card discounts directory to explore any benefits that may be available to interstate visitors.
The program offers Victorian Senior Card holders discounts and benefits for a huge range of participating businesses and services – retailers, accommodation, travel, professional services, recreation, dining and places of interest. While transport benefits are widely known, there are many other benefits available. The golden rule is no matter what you are about to purchase or book always enquire about the availability of Senior Card discounts before you pay.

Explore your ancestry
The Genealogical Society of Victoria is a participating business offering discounts to Seniors Card holders. Offering expert guidance, you can explore your family history using the resources available. Special offers are often available. Make sure to ask!

If you are a Victorian Seniors Card holder, you don’t need to pay for a Fishing License to fish in Victorian waters. If you need fishing tackle or bait, make sure to ask the local tackle and bait shop if they offer Senior Card holder discounts.
Go shopping, or gift a store discount

Free entry to Museums
On showing your Victorian Seniors Card, you’ll be waived through the entry of the Melbourne Museum, the Immigration Museum and Scienceworks, free of charge! What a great opportunity to spend a day with your grandchildren!

Victorian Tech Savvy Seniors is a partnership between Telstra and Seniors Card, to fund and support regional seniors in developing skills around day to day technology – such as using smartphones and tablets. Providing a mix of free online training resources and videos, and DVDs and videos available through regional libraries, Victorian Seniors can polish up their technology skills to make their lives easier. Keep your energy costs down
The Seniors Card program has partnered with energy provider AGL to provide Victorian Seniors competitive energy plans and other benefits.
