At Retirement Communities Australia, we are very excited about our new village, which opened at Safety Beach on the Mornington Peninsula this month. The Martha Cove Village offers the same high standard of facilities, care and community living as our other retirement villages, in an outstanding beachside location. Here is a little bit of information about Safety Beach, and some of the reasons why it is such a great location for a retirement village. Where is it? Safety Beach is located on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, and covers the area between the foothills of Mount Martha and Arthur’s Seat, with Port Phillip Bay to the west. The Martha Cove development in Safety Beach is currently under construction, and combines residential properties with commercial outlets and a marina, to provide everything residents and tourists could possibly want. Known for being a scenic beachside destination, the area consists mostly of families and seniors, making our new village an ideal choice for retirees looking for a relaxed beachside lifestyle. The Martha Cove Village is easy to get to and is a convenient distance from metropolitan centres, local tourist attractions, and of course the new Martha Cove development with its shops and entertainment.

Nearby towns and attractions As well as all the community activities at our new village, residents can enjoy local facilities including a stunning golf course at the Mount Martha Country Club, a sheltered local beach with barbecue and picnic facilities, and plenty of bushwalks and opportunities to explore the stunning scenery. Arthur’s Seat is a small community beside Safety Beach which is known for its natural attractions. A great location for a drive or walk, there are a number of lookouts on the way up the mountain and at the top which offer stunning views of Port Philip, the Mornington Peninsula and the Bass Strait. The Arthur’s Seat state park has a number of walking tracks and picnic areas and King’s Waterfall is well worth a visit. For those who would prefer to relax and enjoy the scenery with a nice meal or a drink, there is a hotel at the top of the mountain overlooking a vineyard with outstanding views from both the indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Safety Beach is also located close to the popular seaside towns of Rosebud and Dromana. Rosebud is known for its craft and vintage markets, and fresh produce. Dromana is a scenic coastal town with a number of attractions including cafes, restaurants, and a beach. The Dromana Drive In cinema is popular with locals and tourists, and the town is known for the many wineries in the surrounding area.

Just a few minutes’ drive away and visitors and residents are in the heart of Victoria’s wine country proper, with wineries and a number of other tourist attractions easily accessible.

Convenient and relaxed Safety Beach is bound to be an appealing location for anyone looking for a relaxed retirement in stunning surroundings. With so much to do, residents will never be bored, and there are plenty of activities for visiting family of all ages.
