Apps for seniors – a suggestion of useful free apps for iPad and iPhone
Easier to use than traditional PC programmes, apps (or applications) can be a great way to connect seniors to the digital world. The iPad is a tablet manufactured by Apple and uses the same apps as an iPhone. There are other tablets that work on Android (or non Apple) and they also produce apps. For the most part, the apps we mention here are for iPad or iPhone but there may well be versions available for Android.
Apps are easily downloaded and automatically installed with an iTunes account. Some are free and some will incur a charge ranging from 99c upwards. All the apps we recommend here are free to download, although you will need access to the internet either via a wi-fi connection or a data package from your mobile provider which will incur various charges.
