Membership Questions
Who can publish an article on Retirement Communities Australia?
You must be a current resident of a Retirement Communities Australia Village or an approved Associate Member of the website.
Who do I contact to request membership?
From our homepage, click on the website tab titled ‘Become a Member’. You will be prompted to enter your email address. Once you’ve typed in your email address, choose the membership type you are interested in. The options available are either ‘Newsletter Subscriber’ or ‘Contributor’.
If you are not a resident of a Retirement Communities Australia Village and would like to contribute articles that will be of value to the Retirement Communities Australia audience, you can request an Associate Membership by emailing editor@retirement-communities.com.au.
Are all articles submitted published?
Not necessarily. Once you have submitted your article, a moderator / editor of the website will review the content. All submissions will be reviewed and articles that we believe will be of value to our readers will be published. The purpose of this website is to share information that is of value to retirement communities including residents of retirement villages and people looking to explore their retirement living options.
What sort of articles and topics are most likely to be published?
Our editors are looking for topics and information of interest to residents of the villages and other retirees. Suggested areas of interest may include:
- Current affairs and impacts on retirees
- Life as a retiree or someone close to retiring
- Holiday locations
- Seasonal recipes
- Financial matters of interest to retirement communities
- Sport reports (bowls, fishing, golf etc)
- Art and craft reviews and ‘how to’
- Tips for living well
- Village events
- Retirement village life
- Personal stories
If you wish to contribute an article please make sure you are familiar with our Terms and Conditions. These can be found on the bottom left hand side of the homepage, next to our Privacy Policy.
What if I have read something on this website that I disapprove of and would like removed?
Our Editors make the best effort to ensure that offensive, misleading or illegal content is never published on this website. If you read something that is of concern to you or fellow readers please email editor@retirement-communities.com.au .
Where am I able to publish articles on the Retirement Communities Australia site?
As a Resident Member / Contributor you are able to publish the following types of content:
1) For our ‘Village Life’ pages – articles of up to 300 words. Images can also be published to accompany an article.
2) For our ‘In the News’ pages – a brief introductory paragraph to an article or information of interest that has been published on another website. The paragraph should be no more than 50 words in length and should include the URL link to the online content referred to.
How do I get help with using the publishing tools if I don’t know how to use them?
Please email the editor@retirement-communities.com.au and we can:
1) Provide you with written step by step instructions
2) Set up a mutually convenient time to walk you through the process.
Technical Questions
I’m having trouble logging in?
If you have successfully logged in before, this may be a temporary system problem. In this case, try again in a couple of hours and the problem may have been resolved. If the problem is ongoing please email webmaster@retirement-communities.com.au.
