Our History

Our management team comprises the former senior executives of Australian Retirement Communities (ARC). ARC created 20 villages over 30 years to become Australia’s largest privately owned retirement village owner and operator and was sold to Stockland Corporation in 2007. Shortly after, the management team re-formed to establish RCA.

Meet our executive team

Andrew Philip BComm, ACA – Managing Director

Andrew’s previous roles in the retirement industry include Chief Operating Officer of Australian Retirement Communities and – following acquisition by Stockland – as Victorian Regional Manager of Stockland Retirement Living.

Prior to his involvement in the retirement living sector, Andrew was an Investment Banker and Chartered Accountant for over 20 years.

Chris Daly LLB- Director

Chris is recognised in the industry as a pioneer legal practitioner in retirement living and residential aged care.

As an active member of the Legislative Sub-committee for the Retirement Villages Association he liaised with and advised Government when establishing the original Retirement Villages Act 1986 and more recently when the Act has been reviewed and updated.

Chris was one of the founding owners and non executive directors of Third Age Australia Pty Ltd.

Anthony Saul BEc (Hons), ACA- Director

With almost 30 years experience in the retirement living industry, Anthony was Chief Financial Officer with Australian Retirement Communities from 1980-2007.

Anthony was also one of the founding owners of Third Age Australia where he was a non executive director of that company until its recent sale.

Anthony Holdsworth – Director

Anthony has been in the building industry working with builders and residential owners for the past 20 years. He has been building retirement communities for the last 13 years. Anthony became a Registered Domestic Builder and also holds a commercial building licence.

Tony Lear BCom ACA- Director

Tony has had approximately twenty years of experience in the retirement village and aged care industry. For the first ten years Tony worked for Australian Retirement Communities and later as Executive Finance Director for Third Age where he was involved in the development and commissioning of four new aged care facilities.

Neil Wilson- Director

Neil managed several age care facilities for Australian Retirement Communities up until 1987. On the formation of Third Age Australia he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer until 2007.

Terry Edwards – Director

Terry was the Senior Design Manager and Architect of Australian Retirement Communities from 1980 to 2007. In addition to designing and over seeing the development of 20 Australian Retirement Communities Villages he also designed all of the Third Age Australia facilities and various other commercial and residential projects.

Pat Hems – Operations Manager

In her career spanning over 30 years, Pat has seen the retirement housing industry grow from virtually a cottage business model to the regulated corporate industry it is today.

As President of the Retirement Villages Association Victoria for several years and as Board member of RVA Australia, Pat has made a substantial contribution to improving retirement living options for older Australians. She has held senior positions with Lend Lease and Stockland and spent 15 years with ARC and Retirement Communities Australia.

Pei-Pei Ong- Finance Manager

Pei- Pei holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is qualified a qualified CPA. She is responsible for the management of accounts, payroll, financial reporting and tax issues for the company. Prior to joining RCA, Pei-Pei was the Financial Accountant with Australian Retirement Communities from 1998- 2007.
